Choosing well in Denmark

Picking a provider
who knows Danish employment law

A capable employer of record in Denmark answers a few questions without looking them up. How does concurrent holiday work across a September to August holiday year? When can the 120-day rule end a contract during sickness? What happens to net pay when a tax card changes? Below: the duties a provider takes on, questions to ask before signing, and how our Danish fee, from €599 per employee per month, measures up against the large platforms.

Eight employer duties we take on in Denmark

Each one is a legal duty of the employer in Denmark. Once we employ your hire, it is ours to carry out.

  • Written terms of employment by day 7, as Ansættelsesbevisloven requires
  • Monthly A-skat and AM-bidrag withholding, reported through eIndkomst and paid to Skattestyrelsen
  • ATP for every employee, employer share DKK 198 a month in 2026
  • AUB, Barsel.dk, the financing contribution and AES on the quarterly Samlet Betaling invoice
  • Holiday accounting under Ferieloven, including the 1% holiday supplement
  • Full salary during sickness for salaried staff, with benefit refunds claimed from day 31
  • A working-time recording system, with each record kept for 5 years
  • Work-injury insurance placed with a private insurer

Your contact

Real answers from one person.

On a difficult day, such as an employee off sick for weeks, your account manager tracks the 30-day employer period, claims the sickness benefit refund and tells you whether the contract’s 120-day rule applies. Same person, every time.

Checked on 9 October 2026. Deel lists $599, Remote and Oyster $699 and RemoFirst from $199 per employee per month, all in US dollars; Papaya Global charges €650 for Europe, roughly $728; Native Teams quotes on request. Because our fee is set in euro, we converted it with the European Central Bank’s 9 October 2026 rate of 1.1206 dollars per euro: €599 is about $671. That makes us dearer than Deel and RemoFirst and cheaper than Remote, Oyster and Papaya Global. Dashes mark features a pricing page leaves out.

Buyer questions

Questions buyers put to us

Who is the legal employer of my staff?+
We are. Your employee’s Danish employment contract is with us, and we appear as employer on the written terms, the payslip and the monthly eIndkomst report. You set the work and keep the working relationship; the employer’s statutory duties are ours.
What does a Danish pay month involve?+
We pay salary in DKK, withhold A-skat using the tax card’s withholding rate and allowance, deduct 8% AM-bidrag and the employee’s DKK 99 ATP share, then report the month through eIndkomst. For small and medium employers in 2026, reporting and payment fall due around the 10th of the next month.
What about ATP?+
ATP is the only pension the law requires: DKK 297 a month for full-time staff, DKK 198 from the employer and DKK 99 from the employee. Any occupational pension is agreed in a collective agreement or the employment contract. If you offer one, we run the contributions through payroll.
What if an employee disputes a dismissal?+
Salaried staff with a year’s service or more can claim compensation if a dismissal is not reasonably justified (rimeligt begrundet): up to 3 months’ pay from age 30, and more after 10 and 15 years. We check grounds, notice and paperwork with you before notice is given, and deal with the correspondence if the employee disputes it.
How is employee data looked after?+
Payslips, contracts and working-time records are held in the portal, and only the people who need them can open them. Working-time records are kept for 5 years, as the Working Time Act (Arbejdstidsloven) requires, and each employee can see their own pay documents.
What sets the price?+
The role and the scope. Quotes run from €599 per employee per month, priced in euro; salary and the statutory levies are passed on at cost next to our fee.
Can terms be rewritten mid-contract?+
Yes. Ansættelsesbevisloven says a change to an essential term, such as pay or hours, must be given in writing no later than the day it takes effect. Rights under Funktionærloven cannot be reduced to the employee’s detriment by agreement. We draft the change, send it to the employee and keep the record.
How do I reach my account manager?+
By email or video call whenever a question comes up. Your account manager looks after your employees from contract to exit, so the person answering already knows the file and no question goes into a ticket queue.
